Im going to address this despite age.

Asgard Heroes is a very small community, burdened by the ever increasing retirement of old members. However new players are always joining, only to become discourages by the communities lack of activity, and thus do not try to engage in the communication with others members. Now I am now one of the oldest players, and not being around to help has left many people without a guide. Many young and well off players will ignore new players and steal your resources. Sadly, as a online game this game does little to encourage it's community, and that is one of the largest flaws.

Now, my "moderation" of the forums is pretty strict as well, which I believe also discouraged the use of the forums. While at times the lack of moderation also has caused problems. Which is to say that in a small community makes a balance pretty hard to strike. A fine example, skyguy, his excessive lying,deceit and abuse of lenient administration. It caused quite a bit of drama ingame, and forum side. I do not believe many people would want to deal with this. However, in an attempt not to quell the community's growth, quite a bit of flame baiting, hostile interactions and lack of concern for rules, has been overlooked by me. Then once I "cracked down", a few players left and one was banned.

For the third issue that causes this game to stay and appear dead is, the appearance of its death. No devoted person has come along and catered to the community. While this itself is often done by administration, establishing a set of moderators to do so, the selected mods, myself included sadly, have not taken the time to produce much of a structure to the forums. Creating guides, reference post, and more might change this. But, the lack of overall activity has caused many moderators to just vanish. Thus, without DJ(DanialJackson), who was attempting to establish said structure, the community will be by all appearances dead and lacking.

Its overall bogged down by the lack of community interaction, the appearance of death, and the lack of "outgoing enthusiasm" from a group of players.

Ok, so if I understand the response to the question (2 months after post) and ignore the double speak. The answer is yes,
this game is deader than Obama's presidency. I would really like to hear a straight and honest answer before wasting time on a game I will be playing alone. And if the answer is no, the game is alive and well, where are the alliances, why do they not look to recruit new members? I suppose I can check back in a couple of months to read the reply?

Ok, I posted a reply yesterday, and somehow it is gone, now i have between 50 and 150 people ready to come play this game, however if it is dead, and this forum is going to be like many other ones, where newbies are treated like they don't matter or dont have any rights, then I will need to look elsewhere. Now if this game isn't completely dead, I can bring new life to it, advertise its platform and entertaining aspects and we can have fun. I have been playing Space Invasion at Bigpoint.com for over 2 years, and have a lot of people in the gaming community who will listen to my recommendations. i am also 50 years old, and have little patience for petty egotism.
If the powers that be want new players, let me know. If not, its your game and you can be bored to death if you want.

TimeLord: your post was missing due to a delay in approving it, as these forums are active we do from time to time have issues with bots that will spam the system. As a precaution there is an approval process that must be completed by the moderators on any post done by a new member or anyone under a certain number of previous posts. I apologize for the delay but as we the moderators are volunteers sometimes real life gets in the way.

In reference to your question about the status of Asgard Heroes, the game itself is very active with many new players daily, although they may not all join the forums I can attest to seeing many new outposts every day. If you're unsure about bringing new people to the game you can always suggest it to a few friends first and see what they think before you send out a calling for others. Any amount of new blood for the universe is a good amount.

I really must apologize for being so rude and cynical, I actually didn't notice the post about approval before posting (which may or may not be a good thing) The fact that you did post my remarks is very positive in my eyes. I really like the Daniel Jackson character and it seems you share his understanding of different types of personalities. I will give this game a chance and will be bringing more people in as time progresses. i hope this game is ready for eventual violence as all the friends i intend to bring are warmongers and enjoy the thrill of the hunt and the kill.
