9872 I was more or less saying that very few people would beat me in finding an old player coming back or new player starting.

Oh it wasn't much of a pattern. More like a small oddity I noticed for that particular number: 9867. The digits are consecutive: 6789. The two highest valued digits in reverse numerical order followed by the lower valued ones in normal order. Just something that caught my eye which I decided to point out. The number I posted after that consists of the four digits before 6: 2345, in the same pattern.
