Being attacked by larger cities

I thought there was a rule against being attacked by outposts that were a lot bigger than you -- that's the message I get when I try to raid smaller outposts that haven't gone inactive.

Yet I am getting hammered by outposts with populations much larger than mine (as in, a difference of 500 or more). They can't take anything since I have shifters, but they think it's fun to kill off my (expensive) troops over and over. What's going on?

don't let your troops sit around and they wont get killed. Or build up your troop pods to give them protection while your away. If you get your army built up you will take a bite out of the loot the outposts around you are getting now so i don't blame them for killing your troops.

Once you get to the size where you can build troops its open season, the automatic protection is only for very small or very new outposts. This is a war game so fighting and killing is a given. ;) just roll with punches and you will soon be able to defend. check out the wiki it does have some good info about fighting and how to use troops for newer outposts.

Re: Being attacked by larger cities

Sending troops away doesn't help with overnight attacks, since the longest I can keep them away by going to the other side of the map is about 4 hours. Troop pods only protect for 8 hours (overnight) if they're built up to at least level 16, and it's almost impossible to build up that amount of resources with troops getting killed every few hours. As far as I can tell, there is no way to protect drones at all.

When is that "colonial trader" protection going to be fixed?

Ah, a similar position I was in on Xeno. That was back when Xeno was EV. Veteran player of that I am, but this is more fun. If there's anything someone needs here it is friends and/or allies. I can promise you, that I (and if someone joins my alliance) will not attack you. Killing for fun is most inhumane.

It'd be a little more fair if troop pods were good for 1 hour instead of 30 min. You almost have to be logged in 24-7 to play as it is, but if pods were good for a longer period, you could take a break.

Yes, something I have most seen in these games. You do have to be logged in to save yourself. If you set some defenses and log off thinking, "I should be safe until I log back in" and your stuff is gone. Build more, and such, and basicly someone just doesn't let you have units/resources.

Disagree all you want, but I'm not going to start an arguement like back in EV. I do not care nor wish for either Peace or War. Just Trade.

Re: Being attacked by larger cities

I have the same problem, I've been trying to attack a inactive player near me (I havent seen his pop grow since I've started) and then some guy with almst 2k pop attacks me (im only 160) and now he is trying to get the rest of his league to attack me!

he has destroyed 4 drones, about 20 marines and took over 10k of both deturium and food :(

but I've been trying to save my resources by hiding them away.

[off topic] if he has the balls to attack me in this game then I'm sure he has the balls to attack me in a game i'm good at.[/off topic]

Re: Being attacked by larger cities

Blame skyguy...If he did not abuse the system, you would be safe right now, it use to be over 450 population difference they had to have about one day of age for every 100 population...I had a whole ban skyguy thing for doing it...Only DJ even agreed with me everyone else was its a "tactic" or whatever.. So really you should be blaming a lot of people...Pretender undid so people could not do the same thing again...Now everyone is open game once they get 120 population.
