Shields, ground battery, and of course other spacecraft make spacecraft weak very quick?

Re: !Important. Marines vs Ships!
It's nice for you guys to agree. To me, some ships(or troops) got to have some weaknesses.. Everything MUST have weaknesses... That's the only way to make the game more Balanced-Out(Based on my "Marine and Mecha" Theory). The Weaknesses of each units will make the player training variety of units in order to smash the enemy completely. (Now that's strategy). Plus, if people wants to save on cost by having less variety of troops, they can send "Agents" to spy on enemy and send the enemies' Units weaknesses. Then on that point, Agents will gain full 100% Usage.(If the enemies defenses have no weaknesses, say, having both Anti-Air and Anti-Ground Defense, then that player is a Good Player)
Re: !Important. Marines vs Ships!
Once again i agee with Hamstar that all units need at least one weakness
Re: !Important. Marines vs Ships!
imagination:
mecha, carrying rockets on it's shoulder, flew up and shoot incoming drones. with it's mobility, it swiftly evades attacks from incoming fleet.
oh yes, that'd be great. tho i would have though since it's mecha, and it flies, it should have higher speed than marines. I mean look at the speed difference between marines and drones. marines can outrun drones at any time. weird, aint it?

Re: !Important. Marines vs Ships!
Now why does that remind me of Gundams...
I like the idea of different attack defense roles for different units, it would certainly add a lot to the strategic element. As for every unit having a weakness, the weakness of certain big units is cost so they don't necessarily have to have a weakness on the battlefield.
You know the title of this topic reminds me of marines versus battlecruiser, ah the good old days of starcraft...

I agree with Dolphin on this point.

Re: !Important. Marines vs Ships!
Well, as I suggested.
There's one group of units that can encounter both on ground or in air. But the stats(HP or Atk or Def, something like that) got to be slightly lower.(Or the cost would be slightly higher). Because of the ability of attacking both air or ground, giving them no weaknesses, but it needs something to balance it, like higher cost or lower stats.
