Greatest Game Character Ever?

Which character do you think deserves to be the greatest game character of all times?

My personal favorite is Gordon Freeman (from Half-Life). As a means of immersing
the player in the role, he never speaks, and there are no cut-scenes or mission briefings.

Why? Because you have to spent like 1000 hours to even fight him...AND then learn your too weak to fight him..

Oh god. How? Kirby, the adorable blob who sucks up adorable enemies-swallowing them to get their powers!

3) Spiderman

Basically I like any wise crackers.
Three reasons why the 'one ring' from Lord of the Rings is a wedding ring:

1. When you put it on, you disappear from your friends.
2. You are joined to a dark force when you wear it.
3. Your life turns into one big trial.
