When you type a message and get carried away, and hit the 500 character limit, you can't go back and edit the message. You have to send the message with an incomplete last sentence, or start again. When I remember this, I do the typing in a separate program and copy it across, but I usually forget and have to retype a complete shorter message. It would be helpful to be able to delete characters after you reach the 500 character limit.
